Itinerary for Gorilla Trek, chimp and wildlife safari: 

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe for Gorilla Trek, chimps and Wildlfe Safari

On arrival at Entebbe International airport and after clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by your safari guide who will then transfer you to the Boma Guest House.
If you arrive early the rest of the day is free to relax by the swimming pool or if time permits, enjoy some sightseeing around Entebbe like the Botanical Gardens or the Education Wildlife Centre (Zoo).

Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, you will embark on a long drive of approximately 8 – 9 hours to the western side of the country, to Kibale Forest National Park. This is a beautiful, forested area, which links into the QENP eco system. You will arrive late in the afternoon.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking /Bigodi Wetlands
On this 3rd day of your gorilla trek, chimp and wildlife safari, after an early breakfast, you will be driven down to the Kibale Forest National Parks’ headquarters to meet your guides who will accompany you to trek chimpanzees. You will find the forest alive with noise and you should be lucky enough to see the habituated chimps during your trek. The trek generally takes most of the morning, and then return to the lodge. Today we will a taste of the local food at Tinka’s for lunch and later a swamp walk in Bigodi Wetlands.

Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth Game Park
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, you will depart the Kibale area for Queen Elizabeth N.P. You will drive passed the Rwenzori Mountains if lucky on a clear day you will have nice views of the mountain.
Queen Elizabeth has diverse Eco-systems of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers and swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to incredible abundance of wildlife. Lion, leopard, elephants, Cape buffalo, forest hog, Uganda kob, giant forest hogs, bush back, water back, can be seen on a game drive.

Day 5: Game drives/ launch trip on Kazinga Channel
Wake up very early in the morning and head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi track and Queen's mile in the park. During the game drive you may spot game like the lion, leopard, Uganda kob, elephants, cape buffalos, waterbucks and many other animals. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Later visit the Katwe salt pans.

In the afternoon there will be a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. On this cruise you will see a high concentration of hippos and many other animals can be seen drinking at the water's edge. If time allows, you can go for another game drive.

Day 6: Ishasha for Tree climbing lions
Today you will travel to Ishasha area of the park in search of the tree climbing lions, and other wildlife. Check into your accommodation. After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park, hoping to spot tree-climbing lions and a host of other wildlife.

Day 7: Game Drive – Bwindi Forest
You will have a final game drive in Ishasha area before your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Your arrival here will be in time for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a forest and waterfall walk to acclimatize.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking day!
Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on your gorilla tracking from the park guides. You will then embark on your gorilla trek with the expert leadership of the park guides who will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Your gorilla tracking will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family.

The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them.

Day 9: Lake Mburo Park
Early breakfast and departure for Lake Mburo national park situated half way between Entebbe and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, game drive to the Lake Mburo camp arriving in time for a late lunch. Lake Mburo Park is home to zebra, eland and impala, and teaming with other wildlife and birdlife as well.

In the afternoon you will be taken for a boat ride on Lake Mburo, it time allows a game drive on your way back to the camp.

Day 10: Departure
Early morning game drives before your return to Entebbe; stop at the equator for photo opportunities and curio shopping en route! Transfer to airport to connect with your international flight out.
